Sand Castles Resort in Boracay was built by local carpenters in 1989 and has been accredited as a "AA" Boracay Resort by the Philippines Department of Tourism. Sandcastles Boracay Island Hotel is an Australian/Filipino owned resort in Boracay and is an exquisitely crafted in native-style with absolutely beachfront accommodation.

Sandcastles Boracay Resort consists of Boracay Cottage bungalows and Boracay Hotel type accommodations built with local materials and decorated with uncluttered simplicity and taste. Ethnic fabric, pottery, bamboo and rattan furnishings, light shades, village terra cotta tiles, and jars & crockery adorn guest rooms.

Cable television, personal refrigerators and lockers available for a fee to long-staying guests is also available. A back to nature ambience with none of the frills, sandcastles resort serves as a resort to weary travelers, or those who simply want to be laid back.
